On our way to Boston!

Day 1:

We tried hard to get ready ahead of time but Kyle and I were still up until close to 12:00am last night. So when our alarm went off at 3:15 this morning, we had to drag ourselves out of bed. Our goal was to leave our house at 4:00 am. We ended up closing our garage door at 4:30. Despite both of us being very tired the drive wasn't to bad. We took turns driving and napping. Jessi even took her turn. She drove through part of Indiana into Ohio. She managed lots of construction and semis. She did fantastic and it really helped to give us a few more breaks. We stopped for the night in Rochester NY. We unloaded our car at our hotel at about 8:30pm. Tomorrow we hope to be on the road at 8:00. We have about 6 more hours of driving before we reach Boston. Enjoy the pictures! Good Night!!!!

Getting started. Devin was in a good mood despite the early hour.
Jessi not so much.

Devin worked off some of his energy in the pool.

Jessi was all about the hot tub.
Usually Devin thinks they are way to hot but he braved the heat tonight!

We spent the night at very nice Hampton Inn. The room was great.
Kyle finally has a chance to check out all there is to do in Boston.

At the end of the night the kids settled into doing what they do at home.
Jessi on the computer.

A Day at the Lake

The parents of one of the girls from the track team, invited several families to their lake for the day as an end of track celebration. The weather was to cold for most of the adults to swim but it didn't seem to bother the girls at all. Even a little rain didn't dampen their fun. Kyle, Jessi and I want to thank the Ross' for their hospitality. Everyone had a good time!
Jessi and her friend Julie.

It rained part of the time but it didn't stop the fun.

How many teenage girls can climb on a paddle boat? I'm not sure, but what ever the amount there is a lot of screaming and laughing involved!

Three on a Kayak? I see disaster coming!

Swimming towards shore.

Company

My cousin Mike, his wife Rebecca, and their kids vacationed in St. Louis this summer. (Mike's oldest son, Seth, decided to stay home. Imagine that, a high school senior who would rather hang out at home then vacation with the family!) We were lucky enough to meet them for dinner a couple of times. We enjoyed their company very much and we are very glad that we were able to spend some time with them.
Devin and Conner don't get the chance to spend much time together but they hit it if off great!

Alex and Mekenna LOVE Jessi and she enjoys the attention. She always wanted a little sister.

Baseball

Good eye Devin! The pitch was outside.

Devin looks for the pitch.

SMACK!

Safe at first and a RBI!

Devin pitched for the first time this year. He really enjoys it though he often disagrees with the umps calls when it comes to balls and strikes. He is sure that his strike zone is always much smaller than the other team's. Isn't that what all pitchers think?

Charger Softball

One of the teams Jessi plays on is an FAAA team with her friend Emily. The team has only won a game or two but Jessi has made some new friends. Besides, it gives us a chance to see our friends, Sharon and Kenny!

Softball pictures

Jessi up to bat. Her hitting has really been great.

Jessi doesn't usually play first base but got a chance to on her CYC league.

Softball

Jessi plays on two softball teams. It sounded like a good idea when we signed up for it. We wanted to be sure she kept busy this summer. What we didn't think about is that it also keeps US BUSY! She plays CYC softball. Several of the girls she goes to High School with play on the team. They are doing really well. They have only lost 2 games so far.
