Visit from Mom and Dad

My mom and dad were in town over the past weekend. Usually we have the chance to do some shopping but we didn't this time. Though the kids some how ended up with something anyway. It was a quick visit. They didn't get in town until late Friday and left before noon on Sunday. Saturday, Devin had a basketball game and an indoor soccer game. I think they enjoyed both especially since we won. There is a boy on Devin's basketball team who has a lot of talent. Not only does he have a lot of skill but he is also an unselfish player. My mom commented that he makes the whole team better, this is probably true. Devin played really well in his indoor soccer game. They played a team a year younger than them but had quite a bit of ball skill. It was a good game. I am very proud of Devin because he kept his temper during the game. There was some pushing and shoving, which is what indoor soccer is! Since Devin was bigger than the other players on the opposing team the calls almost always went against him justified or not. He never lost his cool. One of the boys on Devin's team actually got a card and had to sit in the penalty box for 2 minutes. I told you indoor soccer is like hockey with out the ice and wimpy body pads! My mom and dad left Sunday morning after church. They were stopping in Peoria for a visit.

Jessi started track on Monday. I think she is really enjoying it. She'll Probably like it more when practices aren't so cold. I hope to have her meet schedule soon.

Tonight we start the process of replacing the floors in our bedroom. I am going to do my best not to be crabby but I hate my house being torn apart. The furniture gets moved tonight and the carpeting gets torn up tomorrow. Yikes!!!! I am excited and very apprehensive. I'll keep you posted on how it is going. Not only the floors but whether I've had a nervous breakdown or Kyle has locked me out of the house. Hopefully every thing will be close to being done by Monday.
