Track Meet Results and Soccer Pictures

The weather for the meet last Saturday was miserable! Rosati ran in the Washington University High School Meet. There were about 20 schools that had girls represented. Some of the schools were not co-ed. Rosati came in 10th place. I think that is very respectable considering we do not have poll vaulting and our field events program is not so great. Jessi ran in four events, the 100Meter dash, the 4X200 Meter relay, the 400 Meter dash, and the 4X400 Meter relay. She received points for each of her events. That means she was in the top 8 in every race. I know she was not exactly pleased with her times but the weather was brutal, in the low 30s and very windy, and it was her first meet of the season. Here is how she did:

100 Meter 13.28 Seconds, 8th place out of 39 runners

400 Meter 1:04.62, 7th place out of 38 runners

4X200 (800Meter) Relay, 1:54.35, 5th place out of 14 teams

4X400 (1600Meter) Relay, 4:19.16, 5th place out of 12 teams

Jessi is also listed on the area wide honor roll. Just click on the link that to the right that says St. Louis Prep Sports then girls track and scroll down the right side of the page until you see area honor roll.

Enjoy the pictures. I'm including pictures from Devin's tournament in Memphis.

Jessi crossing the finish line in the 4X400 relay. She is running anchor this season. Her coach told Kyle and I they wanted to move her to anchor during sectionals last year but they were worried it would freak her out. In last Saturday's meet they replaced one of the runner on Jessi's 4X400 at the last minute. This is the new runner's first year in track. I think the relay will be much better even by this weekends meet.

Jessi out of the blocks on the 400 Meter dash. This was her first time running this race in competition and she had the worst lane. I know she was disappointed with her time. She wants to run the 400 in 60 seconds or less.

Jessi runs the anchor of the 4X200 meter relay. She really does well in that position. She loves to chase down other runners.

Jessi out of the blocks on in the 100 meters. I think she would like to drop this race but since an athlete can participate in 4 events and Jessi is the fastest girl on her team the coaches will keep her in it.
The parents (and some grandparents) pooled their money and got the track and cross country team a tent. It is really nice. It is large enough to hold the girls and it protects them from the elements.
The NORCO soccer team after their last game in the Memphis tournament. It rained and was cold most of the weekend. The sun did come out on Sunday. If you can't tell by the uniforms, the fields were very very muddy!

Devin played goalie during two of the games. He hadn't played in a couple of years. He did really well. He thinks he might want to play more.

Devin has the height to be a good goalie. But he is such a good defender that it is very noticeable when he is not on the field.
The white uniforms didn't last long!
